Dolphin Force and Police Response Unit (PRU) have impounded over 14,000 vehicles during the last one week and took into custody 238 persons after they failed to prove their identity. According to a weekly progress report of the Dolphin Force and the PRU, nine cars, 49 motorbikes, eight mobile phones, 19 pistols, one pump-action, 11 magazines, 150 bullets, over one kilogram hashish, 53 liter liquor and over Rs 53,000 were seized from suspects.

"With a view to promote community policing, the field teams provided aid to 959 people. Nearly 150,000 motorbikes, 17,000 cars and 94,000 persons were thoroughly checked," the report says, mentioning that around 238 persons, 1475 motorbikes and a car were taken into custody for lack of identification documents.

Out of the total registered cases, 12 FIRs were registered for violation of one-wheeling act, seven for fireworks act and 94 for kite flying act. The teams have also arrested 16 proclaimed offenders, added the report.
